Description:Lead all quality assurance personnel in plant activities relevant to QA responsibilities.Assist with the development and performance of all quality assurance testing procedures including but not limited to: coffee grind analysis, roast color, package weight and scale checks, package length, residual oxygen tests, moisture analysis, calibration and flavor analysis.Notify Head of Food Safety and Quality of any product issues identified and/or inconsistencies not immediately correctable without any ramifications to product integrity or consistency, work with quality team to resolve issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.Investigate customer complaints related to quality or food safety issues, and report findings to senior management.Assist production supervisor in maximizing human resources by motivating and maintaining focus of production machine operators.Collect, enter, and thoroughly manage data on a timely basis.Assume backup role for SQF Practitioner, assist in all relevant food safety initiatives including internal and external audits.Promote food safety culture throughout the organization, and ensure food safety measures are being adhered to by all staff at the plant level.Assist in other areas where necessary.1st shift position - hours are 5:00am - 3:00pm MON-THUR (overtime as needed)QUALIFICATIONS:

A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.HACCP and PCQI certifications preferred, willing to obtain HACCP certification within 6 months of hire if not currently certified.Experience with food manufacturing and GFSI benchmarked food safety certification schemes desired.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
