Quality Assurance Supervisor

Albertville, AL

location.Work Schedule : Monday - Saturday (7:00 am-5:00 pm)Summary:

This Supervisor will be responsible for supervising daily operational quality activities at the assigned complex. Responsible for daily monitoring and verifying activities related to USDA, HACCP, GMP, SSOP, SQF, customer and company regulations.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Including the following. Other duties may be assigned.Supervises activities of the quality assurance technicians.Interacts with USDA personnel and customers as directed by senior management.Helps plan, organize, and implement HACCP protocol testing.Responsible for meeting government, customer and company requirements and the reporting of significant events in a timely manner to management.Helps plan and prepare for plant audits.Reports activities as needed to production and maintenance personnel.Responsible for all directives brought forth by senior management.This is a safety sensitive position.Qualifications / Experience:Previous experience working in a production environment, poultry preferred.Knowledge of USDA, HACCP, GMP, SSOP, SQF.Prior supervisory experience.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises up to 20 employees successfully. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Handles employee’s time and pay adjustments.Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with one-year related food plant experience and/or training.Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as HACCP plans, SSOP, GMP manuals and safety rules. Ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common numbers, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word processing software.Physical Demands:
