This position is located in the Upstate New York area and will cover the Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse territories. Candidates must reside within this area.What's the role?As a Business Development Representative, you will work with an exceptional team in Carl Zeiss Vision. We are seeking a Business Development Representative for our Upstate New York territory. Under the direction of the Regional Business Development Manager, the BDR is responsible for managing objectives and plans for the assigned territory within the U.S. Independent Eye Care Professional (ECP) Channel. The BDR will conduct sales calls with eye care professionals (ECPs) to promote ZEISS products and services using consultative and conceptual selling approaches, while documenting customer records within the CRM system. You will develop and maintain effective plans for your territory and implement account-specific programs to expand ZEISS product utilization.Sound Interesting?Here's what you'll do:Meet or exceed sales growth targets for Direct Rx business and other strategic targets.Segment territory using the CRM Account Classification system to identify key customer targets.Profile and evaluate each customer's operations and create value-based sales strategies.Conduct pre-call planning and establish a relationship as a trusted advisor.Lead sales conversations with ECPs and close deals.Create innovative approaches to meet business objectives.Execute territory plans to achieve goals.Communicate the advantages of Carl Zeiss Vision products to ECPs.Support national marketing plans and conduct training seminars.Maximize customer marketing programs.Establish productive relationships with colleagues.Operate with the highest ethical standards in customer interactions.Input accurate reports via Salesforce.com.Manage travel costs efficiently.Prepare and submit timely expense reports.Do you qualify?BS or BA in Business, Public Administration, Economics, Marketing, or related field strongly preferred.3+ years in a successful business-to-business sales environment, preferably in Rx sales or the optical/medical device industry.Strong sales focus with the ability to manage key opportunities through the sales cycle.Ability to thrive in a competitive environment.Experience in creating plans to achieve revenue goals.Effective consultative and negotiation skills.Disciplined and results-oriented approach to selling.Ability to work collaboratively with others.Self-starter with the ability to work independently.ABO & ABO speaker certification preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.Must have a valid driver's license.Proficiency in MS Office applications and knowledge of Salesforce.com preferred.We have amazing benefits to support you as an employee at ZEISS!MedicalVisionDental401k MatchingEmployee Assistance ProgramsVacation and sick payThe annual pay range for this position is $56,000 - $70,000. The pay offered may be influenced by factors such as job location, qualifications, education, experience, and complexity of talent. This position is also eligible for sales commissions.
