Tri-City Electric Co. is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager for the Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana area within the Midwest. The Purchasing Manager responsibilities include locating suppliers, purchasing equipment, materials, and services. This position is considered remote, qualified applicants within the states listed with active projects or surrounding areas. On-site visits depending on the project will be required.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Organization and management of all purchasing functions supporting projects within the Midwest Region.Managing the daily activities of sourcing and day-to-day bidding for materials and project purchases.Managing local contracts including administering, negotiating, reviewing, renewal, filing, and evaluating procured materials for availability, price, term, and consistency with the quality and service required.Overseeing purchases and services to support current and upcoming projects.Coordinating with managers to maintain inventory levels.Evaluating vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.For critical materials, vetting multiple vendors or providers to improve efficiency and offset potential delays.Working with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.Ensuring that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.Maintaining pricing histories and other vendor records.Performing other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other related Degree.5+ years of purchasing experience.Purchasing experience on construction projects with large scale purchasing.Purchasing experience for commercial, mission critical, or industrial projects is required.Experience in Electrical construction preferred, but not required.Equivalent combination of education and experience.Candidates must possess strong attention to detail, tact and consideration, solid communication skills, positive initiative and judgment, the ability to problem solve and meet deadlines, and be very organized.This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday-Friday between 7:00am-5:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. This schedule is subject to change as business needs require. Previous experience in the construction industry is preferred.All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and reference check.
