National Logistics Account Manager

is responsible for ensuring the company can provide truckload coverage for customer-awarded freight while also securing additional opportunities. Because this position is responsible for the growth and retention of dedicated opportunities, all direct and extended functions of this role are critical to maintaining a competitive edge and preserving the overall integrity of company services.Key ResponsibilitiesCommunicating with assigned customer base as the single point of contact and build relationshipsWorking with other internal departments to balance capacity and freight including teams of analystsSoliciting additional freight opportunities that eliminate empty miles when necessaryResearching and attempting to remedy service issues dailyTracking and tracing shipments and providing superior service record with on-time performance for 95% or betterRelaying excess load availability to Brokerage and Rail divisionsReviewing EDI data for accuracy before releasing verifications to the customerResponsible for close oversight of all internal activities that impact service obligationsMaintaining key carrier performance indicatorsNavigating all customer requests including those that may come last-minute upon the supply chain delivery timelinesManagement of bookings and provide resolution of delayed pickup/delivery, billing, etc.Minimum Qualifications3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or transportation operationsIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel functionsAbility to handle high volumes of inbound/outbound email and understanding capacity and networkExtremely organized and communicative regarding multiple stop deliveriesAbility to perform in a deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing prioritiesPreferred QualificationsAbility to service multi-million-dollar accounts, support new and existing sales opportunitiesExperts in specific KPI contract details per client and awardsSome familiarity with AS/400 operating systemSkills & AbilitiesCritical thinkingRoot cause identificationProblem solvingGoal settingKPI monitoringCustomer serviceBusiness solicitationNegotiationRelationship buildingSchedulingProject managementData analysisEffective communicationTeamwork
