POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Coordinator manages the procurement of raw materials and supplies and the movement of product throughout the production process. S/he is a critical member of the Operations Team within production planning, contributing to operational success. This role is responsible for the effective and efficient procurement of products, materials, and services for the Coining site. This position will report to the Continuous Improvement & Production Planning Manager and work closely with Operations, Accounting, Quality, Engineering, and outside suppliers.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and implement procurement strategies that are aligned with the company’s objectives, e.g. just-in-time (JIT) and vendor-managed-inventory (VMI).Source equipment, raw materials, and services, managing vendor relationships and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective procurement.Liaise with suppliers for order confirmation and tracking, expedite materials as needed, and identify long lead time items for timely delivery.Negotiate pricing and delivery terms, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and cost savings.Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, and support; spearhead the establishment of supplier scorecards.Manage the procurement of office supplies, warehouse supplies, computer supplies, cleaning supplies, and other miscellaneous items as requested.Maintain item master data for purchase items in the enterprise system.Interface with Accounts Payable to reconcile invoices, receipts, and purchase orders.Partner with Suppliers, Quality, and Engineering to resolve quality issues.Analyze procurement data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement Manager on initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and inventory management systems.REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:Bachelor’s degree required preferably in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related manufacturing field, with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metals industry.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.Ability to understand bills of materials and read product drawings and parts specifications.Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and procurement software.Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and other Microsoft programs.
