HDR’s Florida PM/CM team has an exciting opportunity for an Asphalt Manager to work on a large program in Orlando, Florida.

Primary ResponsibilitiesEnsure that the asphalt materials produced and placed are in accordance per FDOT specifications through verification processes.Oversee the asphalt plant and manage the asphalt plant team.Ensure the information in asphalt lot packages is correct and matches the information before it is submitted to CEI consultants.Address asphalt failures with CEI firms and the contractor to ensure all materials meet specifications and work with Project Administrators on the resolution process.Perform warranty reviews on asphalt pavements in the field.Perform field reviews to ensure asphalt materials meet specifications.Work with CEI firms and the Contractor to resolve non-compliance and offer technical support.Establish and maintain excellent communication and coordination with the client, contractors, and consultants.Perform asphalt plant visits and structural and friction course asphalt placement reviews on active construction projects as needed.

Preferred QualificationsMinimum of 7 years of roadway construction experience.Experience with asphalt production and field placement.FDOT experience.Knowledge of engineering concepts, terminology, principles, and techniques.CTQP Asphalt Paving Levels 1 & 2 is desired or should be obtained within the first year.Familiarity with SharePoint, GIS, and Power BI.

Required QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent.General background-related experience.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
