SummaryThe SQE will conduct audits and evaluate current and potential suppliers, support, engineer and manage a wide variety of Supplier Quality issues; these issues will include daily assistance to Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Engineering. Perform Material Review and disposition nonconforming purchased material; conduct MRB review and final disposition; perform Quality audits on receiving inspection, supplier metrics; prepare QA procedures, plans, and inspection instructions; train others on QA procedures; perform QA review & approval of engineering drawings, test procedures, ECOs, evaluate QA/QC process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques; provide ongoing Engineering, test, and supplier quality surveillance; monitor & report supplier quality performance and trends; initiate SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Request), obtain & Review supplier corrective action; provide QA/QC requirements input to Design and Manufacturing Engineering; provide technical direction to Inspection personnel; provide QA/QC consultation and guidance to assigned company organizations, suppliers and oversee laboratory testing, reliability, design of experiments, data interpretation, calibration, and supplier component inspections and qualification. Perform PPAP validation for purchased material.Essential Functions• Support Procurement on the selection and qualification of suppliers.• Perform On-Site audits and evaluation of potential/new suppliers.• Conduct periodic surveillance audits at existing suppliers.• Prepare audit checklists, audit plan, agenda to conduct pre-audit and post-audit conferences and prepare audit reports.• Issue SCARs and follow-up to ensure attainment of acceptable corrective action and provide feedback on actions taken with suppliers as result of the audit performed.• Track Supplier Quality Issues and drive them to closure in a timely manner.• Prepare weekly/monthly meetings with focus suppliers, review quality data, audit data and improvement actions.• Develop suppliers on the Quality Management System and other areas of improvement.• Drive suppliers to be in support of ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement.• Plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and implement supplier quality assurance activities to provide performance indicators covering applicable Company quality parameters.• Determine, by analysis and evaluation of audit and statistical data, the effectiveness of the supplier quality assurance program.• Develop, implement, and utilize methods to evaluate and analyze the quality performance of supplier programs associated with plant functional operations and activities.• First Article Inspection Report approval.• Review and approve purchase part PPAP for release or interim release with action plan for full PPAP release to production, to include reviewing supplier drawing/spec., PPAP samples, certificates, etc.• Coordinate with internal team the component evaluation.• Maintain acceptable incoming quality levels to support manufacturing, cost, capacity, and delivery goals.• Review nonconforming purchased material and conduct MRB meetings.• Request the RMA# to the suppliers and disposition of parts and notify buyer to issue return PO and debit memo to coordinate the return process for shipment.• Train and/or supervise the activities of Quality Technicians, Inspectors when/as required and train other company organization personnel as required.• Coordinate problem investigations, participate in failure and reliability analyses and prepare reports.• Establish SPC and data collection methods, perform statistical analysis, prepare related charts/graphs, and provide reports.• Support the Quality Assurance group on internal audits.• Develop Procedures and Work Instructions.• Knowledge of Lancer Quality Systems.• Support Sr. SQE on the ECO process.• Support Sr. SQE on the PPAP requirements for suppliers’ part approval process.• Provide technical directions for inspection and quality consultation to the MRB area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Excellent oral and written communication skills.• At least 2 years of working experience in supplier quality or related field and continuous improvement.• Experience of conducting on-site supplier audits.• In-depth knowledge of the Quality Management System, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.• Knowledge of the basic QA/QC tools (i.e., GAGE R&R, SPC, GD&T, DOE, MSA, PFMEA & Control plan).• Knowledge of the PPAP process.• Problem-solving proficiency.• This Position requires 50% traveling and 50% on-site.• Teamwork orientation with a positive attitude.• Computer skills: Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook & Microsoft Teams.Desired• Computer skills: Proficiency with MS Excel & Access.• Knowledge of ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement.• Strong organizational skills.• Lean TPS Knowledge.• Extended Value Stream mapping.• Electromechanical assembly manufacturing experience.

Education and Experience• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline preferred.• Two (2) years of SQE or equivalent experience in high volume manufacturing environment.• Previous project management experience preferred.• ASQ Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
