Together we create a workplace that brings the best out of everyone and this is where you can fit right in.The Product Regulation team is part of the Strategic Product Planning organization and has the responsibility to influence the development of product regulations, as well as to provide internal information about current, proposed and expected global vehicle regulations. We are an inclusive team with 7 different nationalities, working on 4 different sites, and connecting with a global network.What you will do

Vehicle regulations contribute, already today, to decrease fatalities and injuries when accidents occur, and to more energy efficient vehicles…but the development of new technologies and the climate change challenges speed up regulation development around zero emissions vehicles, ADAS systems, automation, cybersecurity, and sustainability.We are looking for a Regulation Manager, who, in addition to the role of regulation specialist, will coordinate the regulation development activities that NHTSA, EPA and CARB are driving, where several regulation specialists interact. You will also act as a manager for the concerned US regulation specialists.In this role, you will:Drive the definition and the execution of the Regulation development strategy, in alignment with the Volvo Group product solution strategies. You will assess, coordinate, and secure the needed Volvo positions in your domain of responsibility are established, are consistent and anchored. Together with other regulation specialists, you will work with regulatory agencies at federal level, in California or in Canada to influence the regulation development.Coordinate the regulation development allocated to several regulation specialists, with the aim to secure the expected final regulation development is aligned with the assumptions we provide internally (technical content and timeline of implementation).Lead the coordination between Engineering functions, Public Affairs and Policy & Regulatory Affairs to ensure have a strong and consistent approach.Oversee the internal communication about regulation development in your domain, secure that the deliverables from the regulation specialists are available and up to date, and secure activities to prepare the organization for compliance with expected product regulated requirements in due time.Support in various forums to promote Volvo's position on legislative/regulatory issues.Participate in conferences, public hearings, and other public fora's to support Volvo’s position and products relative to regulatory impacts, and to gain intelligence on developing regulations.Who are you?

In this role, you will bring:A strong background / experience in the Automotive Regulations area, and the regulation development in US/Canada.Familiarity with the EPA, CARB and/or NHTSA regulation development process.An open multi-brand and multi-cultural mindset, to be a network builder, a good team-worker, to be business and customer oriented and to demonstrate courage and integrity.Creativity and the mindset to constantly learn and improve.Desire to drive and influence the regulation development in a challenging domain.A “can do” attitude and take pride in your work.Efficient negotiation skills and experience of finding compromise.A strong ability to analyze/summarize texts to focus on the key issues.Bachelor or Master of Science in Engineering, or a related field.Experience with Automotive business (preferably Heavy Duty).Collaborative and able to cultivate trustful relationships and networks across organizations (internal – external).Well-developed ability to efficiently formulate and present future regulatory challenges to different set of stakeholders.Demonstrated leadership skills.What’s in it for you?
