Class Description

The purpose of this class is to successfully oversee and manage the day to day operation of assigned College Admissions office(s). Recruiting future graduates for all educational opportunities, both credit, non-credit, and workforce offered by the College.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in education, student development, higher education, business, or related field and five years of experience in admissions or enrollment management, or related field within higher education or educational non-profit. Progressive responsibility in enrollment management experience is required. Master’s degree in education, student development, higher education or related field preferred. Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) systems and student information systems (SIS) are preferred. Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Position may be based on following campus locations: Catonsville, MD and/or Essex, MD

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale .

Class Specific Essential Duties

Provide leadership and supervision of assigned College Admission Office(s).

Develop and implement goals and objectives in coordination with senior management.

Implement strategies related to operation and services.

Evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures to ensure consistency.

Supervise, advise, and evaluate assigned staff, as required.

Prepare, analyze and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as requested.

Serve as liaison between College departments, vendors, government agencies and/or other external organizations.

Manage operating budget for assigned division or function.

Position Specific Essential Duties

Assists the Director of Admissions with the planning and execution of signature recruitment events, prospective campus visitor experiences, and monitoring priorities and progress towards the enrollment goals.

Provides outstanding service to students and other internal and external customers.

Recruits future graduates to educational opportunities (credit, non-credit, and workforce) offered by the college.

Assists the Director with developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans to achieve established recruitment goals.

Provides leadership and supervision to the Admission Office staff at the assigned campus(es), including coordinating staff efforts to successfully complete all recruitment and related activities.

Builds relationships with a variety of internal and external constituencies including prospective students, parents, secondary school personnel, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.

Conducts ongoing communications with prospective students through a variety of methods including in-person appointments, phone calls, emails, information sessions, high school visits, college fairs, and other events.

Monitors lead activity to provide timely responses to inquiries and initiates proactive outreach to prospective students.

Develops and implements effective strategies for lead nurturing and pipeline management.

Maintains, reviews, and evaluates application-related materials.

Assists with recruitment initiatives designed to affect the growth of special populations.

Maintains accurate records on recruitment efforts and assists the Director with the compilation of data related to the effectiveness of efforts and initiatives.

Works independently within a team on special and ongoing projects.

Assists the Director of Admissions with program development and strategic planning, and monitors priorities and progress towards the Department’s goals.

Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

Assists the Director with managing assigned budgets.

Compiles data related to recruitment activities.

Serves on campus and college-wide committees.
