Job Description

Hyundai AmericaTechnical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for an Infotainment Managerin the Vehicle Software group at our Superior Township, Michigan facility.

Our Team

Hyundai America TechnicalCenter, Inc. (HATCI) is the North American design, technology, and engineeringarm of the Korea-based Hyundai Motor Group. HATCI focuses on the development ofHyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles and features that are available in the NorthAmerican market.

The recently establishedvehicle software group (VSW) was created to develop software for Infotainment,ADAS / Autonomous Driving, Powertrain, and E/E Architecture. We are focused ondeveloping high-quality software that can be incorporated into existing andupcoming vehicle models.

The Position

The Infotainment Manager position at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) involves managing a team of softwaredevelopers and UI/UX designers. The infotainment software department undertakesvarious innovation projects related to infotainment and UI/UX systems softwaredevelopment for the next generation vehicle software architecture as well asproduction application of SW features and service content. This role requires experience as a technicalproject manager and a commitment to innovation in the infotainment softwaredepartment.

Core Responsibilities

Plan and design automotive infotainment featuresand define engineering specifications.Develop request for quote (RFQ) documentationand lead supplier vetting.Organize, plan, and execute infotainmentprojects utilizing agile software development and traditional automotivequality processes such as V-Model and ASPICE.Lead and mentor software development peers.Drive the stakeholder communication andalignment around the project status and deliverables.Ensure the deployment and adherence tostate-of-the-art devOps processes.Define the target validation level and qualitymetrics for the project.Collaborate with internal/external projectpartners such as content providers, prototyping services, university labs, andtech suppliers.Conduct competitor system benchmarking, industrytechnology sensing, and trend analysis.Review project plans, validating resourceestimates and dependencies needed to achieve project goals, identifying risksand guiding mitigation plans.Effectively engage, collaborate, and communicatewith other project stakeholders at all levels.Monitor and enhance performance metrics,reviewing key areas and reporting on them.Track employee performance and proposepersonalized development plan for team members.Stay informed about industry trends, newtechnologies, and competitor performance related to connected car andinfotainment systems.Travelboth domestically and internationally (up to 20%).

Basic QualificationsB.S in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,Industrial Engineering, or a combination of education and equivalentexperience.Minimum of 5 years of industry workingexperience in automotive infotainment field.Understanding of the engineering specdefinition: SRS, SAD, SDD, Wireframe.Knowledge in automotive infotainment operatingsystems: Linux, QNX, Android Automotive.Experience with HMI development technologies:QT, Kanzi, Altia, Disti, Android Studio.Able to adapt to agile work scope with shiftingpriorities, demands, and timelines.Comfortable with blank slate initiatives as wellas ongoing established projects.Good communication skills and ability todevelop/keep good relationships with tech experts from R&D center andinternal counterpart teams.

Preferred QualificationsM.S. in Industrial Design, Human-ComputerInteraction, Human Factors, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IndustrialEngineering, or a related field.Experience as a technical project managerleading a team to deliver embedded software.Experience debugging embedded devices and systemoptimizing performance.Experience in production SW lifecycle includingrequirements, system design, development, and maintenance of the embeddedsoftware for vehicle systems.Working knowledge of vehicle communicationnetwork systems (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.) and instrumentation/operation ofdata acquisition systems such as ETAS/INCA and Vector/CANoe.Understanding of modern techniques in at leastone of the following fields: Machine Learning, Deep Neural Networks, NaturalLanguage Processing, or Voice/Speech Recognition.Knowledge in Agile, Waterfall, DevOpsdevelopment processes and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, andBamboo.
