(HATCI) is currently looking for a Counsel at its Superior Township, MI location to perform the following duties:A legal generalist who is an excellent communicator, team player, detail-oriented, willing to learn, self-motivated, confident, and interested in helping create a happy, healthy, and productive work environment on the Legal Team. The ideal candidate must possess planning and organizational skills, the ability to adapt to changing priorities, be deadline-driven, have sound judgment and decision-making skills, be able to effectively handle sensitive and confidential information, work well under pressure and be a multitasker. This Counsel role is a wonderful opportunity to work with a diverse group of highly driven team members. This role will report directly to the General Counsel.Essential Duties And Responsibilities, Including But Not Limited To

Employment: Offering legal advice and counsel to the Human Resources department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to employment, labor, and other relevant areas.Litigation: Manage all facets of litigation and disputes which include employment, consumer, contractual, commercial, or other kinds of legal disputes. Also, Counsel will conduct internal investigations; support discovery efforts; draft and review discovery requests/responses, pleadings, and briefs; direct litigation strategy; and negotiate settlements. The Counsel will also identify legal risks and mitigate them by designing and implementing controls.Management: The Counsel may have management responsibility over one or more paralegals depending on skill, desire, and experience.Miscellaneous: Any overflow work General Counsel assigns or during his/her absence.What You Will Need

The ability to understand and consider business objectives in a legal function.Demonstrate strict attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in work.Possess prompt responsiveness to internal client requests with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and be self-motivated.Willingness to work in a team-based environment with collaboration among co-workers.Ability to organize and prioritize an ever-changing workload.Proficient with Computer and especially Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).Required Experience

Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees, admitted to the Michigan BarTwo to Five Years’ experience as an attorney (Some in-house experience preferred)Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
