We are the North American division of world-renown Metrohm AG (Herisau, Switzerland), an industry leader in laboratory instruments and accessories for analytical testing/research. We are looking for a professional with hands-on chemical instrumentation experience to join our field-based service team. The ideal candidate will be based in the Portland, Oregon area and will cover a region that includes Northern California, Oregon, Nevada, Washington, Idaho, and Montana.

As a successful Metrohm Process Analytics Service Specialist, you will apply technical knowledge and expertise with chemical instrumentation equipment to resolve customers' instrumentation issues and ensure optimal system performance. You will assist with on-site service, including simple-to-complex repairs, installations/start-ups, preventive maintenance, and refresher training. You will also be responsible for mentoring aspiring field service specialists.

Essential Functions:

Ability to resolve customer issues (technical, application, knowledge gap) efficiently and effectively using technical knowledge and expertise.Develop and maintain solid customer relationships; navigate and advise on customers' operational and procedural business landscape.Serve as a technical expert proficient in repairing, testing, installation, reading schematics and diagrams, and troubleshooting Metrohm process products.Exercise discretion and sound judgment to determine the needs of the customer and provide the best possible solutions.Investigate and track technical issues with equipment using the tools provided by Metrohm AG and Metrohm USA.Use advanced knowledge of chemistry and company products to mentor new employees, as well as employees interested in process analytics.Responsible for the proper maintenance of all company-issued equipment, including electronic devices, company vehicle, field tool kits, and equipment test kits.Ability to continuously identify incremental improvement (time and cost reduction) opportunities in processes and service.

Ideal Experience and Education:

Associates Degree or equivalent in Process Analytical Instrumentation and/or four years of hands-on experience in the field of process analytics. Refinery and chemical plant chemistry knowledge is a must.A strong understanding of basic chemistry for calibrating process instrumentation and for troubleshooting root cause failure analysis and application challenges while on site.Area Council Certified OSHA Basic Training credentials are a plus.
