in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), EOR and Midland Basin Business Unit based in

Houston, TX.This business unit’s objective is to grow production by developing new fields with an emphasis on unconventional reservoirs. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary asset team which includes production engineers, facilities engineers, reservoir engineers, and operations personnel to help deliver business unit targets. Primary responsibility is to optimize oil and gas production at the well and field level. The successful candidate will demonstrate creativity, motivation, and teamwork necessary to challenge and optimize well performance potential and current field operation practices. Additional cross-functional team support and collaboration will include Planning, Land, Finance, Production Revenue & Accounting, Drilling, Completion, Facilities, Asset Operations, Well Analysis & Design, Reserves, Midstream, and Supply Chain.Primary Job Responsibilities:Accountable for project execution from inception to completion, including pipelines, compressor stations, pumping stations, and oil/water/gas separation, conditioning, and processing facilities.Manage and coordinate project approval, engineering design, procurement, construction, budget and be on site for commissioning/startup.Solicit project requirements from stakeholders and develop project basis of design to meet requirements.Develop the facilities materials and design that best support the Asset team including timely reviews with stakeholders.Manage external and internal stakeholders as needed.Request assistance from, and provide information to support groups (Electrical/Automation/IT) to implement entire project design.Support development of facilities standards that would benefit the entire organization.Support and maintain Facilities performance reporting and facilities Project KPIs.Effectively communicate project tracking and reporting as needed by Asset team.Manage contract engineering services.Provide HES leadership.Ensure all basis of design incorporate latest HSE compliance, standards, and recommended practices.Prepare cost estimates, economic analyses, procedures, and AFEs for optimization projects as needed.Prepare clear, technically supported memos, recommendations, and reports.Participate in or coordinate HAZIDS, HAZOPS, PSSRs, and PHAs.Mentor early career engineers and interns.Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ME, ChemE, or PE) with at least 10+ years of relevant experience.Required Qualifications:Team player with strong facilitation and project management abilities.Familiarity with computational flow dynamics (CFD) concepts and multiphase flow modeling.Working knowledge of industry software (e.g., Spotfire, PowerBI, PETEX Suite, PIPESIM, HYSIS, OLGA, Synergi etc.).Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment to resolve complex problems.Proactive engagement with internal stakeholders and external parties (contractors, vendors, and partners).Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and handle ambiguity.Understanding of hydraulic modeling, artificial lift types, and nodal analysis software.Ability to apply engineering skills to problem-solving and performance analysis.Fundamental understanding of inflow and outflow concepts.Schedule:This position is eligible for Balanced Work Program (work from home on Mondays & Fridays) and the 9/80 work schedule.Occidental is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
