This recruitment will be used to fill up to four part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Event Support Specialist positions located in Austin Hall in the College of Business. These positions will work under the direction of the Director of Events to provide a combination of customer service, event design, and administrative support to the College of Business marketing and communications at Oregon State University (OSU). Events occur on and off campus for both internal (students, staff) and external (alumni, donors) audiences. The pay rate will be $15.70 per hour.Position Duties

Assistance with all elements of event management and execution, from early planning to day-of set up and take down of events on campus and occasionally off-campus. This includes:Making and printing name tags, signage, and other printed materialsCoordinating with external vendors for various event aspects such as florals, catering, equipment and space rentalsOrganizing and keeping inventory of event materials in storage spacesData management, analytics, and trackingMust be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of studyMust meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employmentMust meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling programUndergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per termUndergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per termGraduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the

Office of International Services

(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.Additional Required Qualifications

Workplace is a typical office environment during normal working hours (8am to 5pm). However, some evening and/or weekend hours are expected on occasion to assist with events. Applicants must be able to work a minimum of a 2-hour shift, but ideally will be available for 3-4 hour shifts. Students should be available to work 10-15 hours per week during the term. Physical requirements may include remaining in a stationary position, such as sitting or standing while completing a task, and maneuvering supplies up to 50 lbs.Application Information
