Collaborate with the real estate agent, lender’s underwriting department, other mortgage professionals, and closing agent to ensure a smooth transactionConduct a thorough interview to determine each applicant/ potential borrower’s specific lending or refinance needsObtain documentation to determine creditworthiness, such as background checks, applicant’s credit history, income and employment verification, and verification of assets and liabilitiesShop for competitive mortgage rates and interest rates, and negotiate terms with various lenders to find ideal mortgage lender for the applicantMaintain strong referral relationships with real estate agents and with mortgage lending sources/ mortgage bankers, gather up to date lending rate sheets and stay abreast of mortgage industry trendsQualifications
5 years of mortgage loan origination or loan officer experience requiredBachelor’s degree preferred in real estate law, banking, finance, business administration, or economicsPrevious experience with MS office and loan origination softwareSuperior time management, communication and analysis skills and independently resourcefulHave a strong understanding of loan products and loan process from origination to closeCompensation
