Innovation.Our Denali Regional Office (DSS) is looking for a dynamic Food & Beverage Manager. This position will oversee all aspects of the Food and Beverage operations including front-of-house and kitchen for multiple venues.Here’s a summary of what Holland America Line - Princess is looking for in its Food & Beverage Manager. Is this you?Responsibilities:Accountable for forecasting and managing budgets, ensuring financial targets are met. Implement cost of sales control measures to maximize profitability.Leads all aspects of training, emphasizing cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and adherence to company policies.Supervises and audits equipment cleanliness often and ensures replacement plan is in place for equipment past life expectancy.Oversees labor management, including interviewing, hiring, and scheduling of front and back-of-the-house staff and collaborates in HR matters when required.Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, objectives, and applicable government laws and regulations, Health, Environment, Safety, Security (HESS) requirements, Risk Advisory and Assurance Services (RAAS) requirements, supports Sustain Alaska & the Yukon (SAY) program.Manages inventory, ordering, and product development to optimize offerings.Conducts regular audits of employee experience, menu items, and overall quality control to assess performance. Implements changes based on employee survey feedback and dining trends.Participates and facilitates employee morale activities to foster a positive workplace culture and to enhance employee engagement (i.e special events, themed/inclusive dining experiences).Performs weekly “Manager on Duty” functions and responsibilities.Participates and supports employee activities, assists with hotel social media, and monitors and replies to employee comments and requests.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent certification is required. This position normally requires a professional level of knowledge in food and beverage services equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of an Associate or Culinary degree. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.Minimum of five years experience in the food and beverage industry, preferably in high-volume environments.This job normally requires three years of progressively responsible positions in restaurant or food and beverage management.Demonstrated supervisory experience in a business environment is required.TAPs and ServSafe Certified.Must have or the ability to obtain an Alaska Food Handlers card.Must have or the ability to obtain an Alaska alcohol server card.Must pass a pre-employment background check.Dedicated commitment to a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment.Must be eligible to work in the United States.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized point of sales (POS) systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook.Must be able to travel up to 25%.Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.Must be able to stand for long periods of time including regular movement throughout PCL and HAL facilities.Must be flexible and participate in operational challenges that are not uncommon in rural Alaska, such as power outages, departure delays and emergency evacuations.The ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
