The Senior Procurement Manager - Glass & Packaging will report to the Americas Procurement Team Lead - Consumer. Benefits include, but are not limited to, tuition assistance, medical, dental, vision, disability, group life insurance, 401(k), profit sharing, paid holidays, and vacations.POSITION OVERVIEW:Responsible for the strategic transformation of the $55M packaging portfolio comprised of glass, metal cans, and paper categories for McCormick's Americas region. Develop end-to-end business relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure maximum coordination and strategic approach to the categories as a key enabler for the regional’s growth aspiration. Accountable for the creation and implementation of best-in-class sourcing strategy and Supplier Relationship Management that deliver supply assurance, cost effectiveness, innovation speed, financial forecast accuracy, and sustainability target to create sustained competitive advantage for the business.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn financial forecast process for the glass category to ensure business has clear visibility of the impact of the category to the P&L and balance sheet (DPO). Create strategies and apply approaches aimed to reduce total cost and volatility to the P&L while guaranteeing cost effectiveness.Responsible for setting standard cost for the category through the annual budget cycle.Create and implement sourcing strategies through the Sourcing with Purpose/Category Mgmt. approach.Manage all Procurement aspects of the $55M+ spend including cost, quality, and service.Act as subject matter expert in the business for the packaging categories. Responsible for providing market view of the glass market and all cost elements impacting McCormick’s P&L. Serve as McCormick’s ambassador and representative in external forums.Develop a supplier base and the appropriate supplier relationships to make McCormick the customer of choice. Drive base business and innovation pipeline by bringing supplier capabilities in including sustainability approaches aligned to McCormick’s Purpose Led Performance aspirations.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting, or applicable field of study.8+ years in Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with appropriate business experience.5+ yrs project management, execution of or participation in large, multiple or cross-functional projects.Proven experience and success in leading major cost savings initiatives and cross-functional teams.Thorough knowledge of industries for assigned categories.Good understanding of material functionality, material flow, and handling to optimize supply chain effectiveness.Knowledge of McCormick products and business, including Company priorities and strategic direction.Ability to deal with diverse and sometimes conflicting priorities.Sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of packaging and process engineering.SAP experience.MBA - Or other equivalent.CPM or APICS certification.Experience in managing glass, metal, and/or paper markets and forecasting prices.Experience in building budget input for packaging materials.Experience in cross-functional collaboration driving packaging initiatives.Familiarity with glass, metal, and paper plastic suppliers in North America (Global a plus).McCormick & Company is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
