Water Resources Project Manager | Providence, RI (Hybrid)

VHB’s Water Resources group is growing across New England, and we're looking for a Project Manager/ Water Resources Engineer to join its dynamic team of Water Resource engineers and water quality specialists. In this position you will assist our clients with developing strategic, cost-effective, and forward-thinking solutions to their water resource, ecological restoration, transportation, and environmental challenges. You will have an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, ranging from site to watershed scale. Projects may include stormwater designs, bridge hydraulics and scour, stream restorations, flood mitigation and management, and coastal resiliency.

Responsibilities

Identify both short-term deadlines, deliverables, and tasks as well as long-term client goals

Track budgets, schedules, staff availability, and ensure internal and external intermediate and final deadlines are met

Assist with identifying and pursuing new clients and leverage existing relationships to continue to provide valuable services to VHB's existing clients

Assist clients with stormwater regulatory compliance and initiatives to develop comprehensive approaches that are efficient and sustainable

Conduct, or lead staff who are conducting, a wide array of water resources related studies and analysis

Support related water resources work such as integrated water resources planning, resiliency planning, watershed management and stormwater control planning, stormwater master planning, and NPDES permitting-related tasks

Prepare reports for stormwater analyses and designs

Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of environmental, land development, transportation, and water resources projects

Skills And Abilities

Superior project management skills on water resource projects

Familiarity with stormwater management design, Low Impact Development/green infrastructure design, floodplain management, storm sewer design, grading, and site design

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Team-oriented with strong capability to motivate others

Highly motivated self-starter

Detail-oriented and highly organized

Superior ability to collaboratively problem solve with stakeholders, clients, and teammates

Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling programs

Understanding of local, state, and federal permitting

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental/water resource engineering or related discipline, master’s degree a plus

P.E. licensure expected or ability to obtain within 6 months

5-8 years of stormwater, water quality, and/or regulatory experience, including project management experience

8-11 years of experience preferred

Experience supervising or mentoring desired

AutoCAD, and GIS experience strongly desired
