The Associate Director of the Livestock Veterinary Service at the CSU Veterinary Health System, Clinical Services will serve as the leader of a diverse unit responsible for teaching, service, and research in livestock medicine. The Associate Director’s responsibilities will broadly include leadership and vision for the service, oversight of teaching and clinical service programs, administrative commitments, outreach, stakeholder relations, and faculty support. The Associate Director will be a strong leader with a deep understanding of the livestock industry and veterinary training. The Associate Director must be able to foster relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, provide vision for the future, and facilitate strategic growth. The Associate Director will participate in clinical service and either teaching or research, be passionate about training the future generation of veterinarians and able to sustain and grow opportunities for the service. A joint appointment in the Department of Clinical Sciences may be negotiated.Required Job Qualifications:DVM or equivalent veterinary professional degree5 years of experience in leadership (or related) roles in the livestock fieldExcellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skillsProven track record of establishing and maintaining external and internal professional relationshipsExpertise in clinical livestock veterinary medicineExperience managing budgets and/or fundraisingPreferred Job Qualifications:Experience instructing veterinary students and post-graduate trainees in livestock medicineExperience developing curricula for veterinary or other advanced-degree studentsExperience in clinical, basic, or other research endeavorsExperience engaging and motivating employees through collaboration, evaluation, consistency, and strong leadershipExpertise in business or practice management, or MBAGraduate degree or specialty boards10 years of experience in leadership (or related) roles in the livestock fieldDiversity Statement:
