Position Summary

The Project Manager serves as the primary leader over the EQUIP project, and is directly accountable for the financial performance, schedule performance, overall management, direction, and implementation on the project. The Project Manager will lead the project team in the design, and construction phases of the Project through turn over and activation with the client. This position is responsible to provide effective leadership to the project staff and ensure quality and timely completion of the project. The Project Manager shall own operational excellence for the project.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in project pursuits including development of the proposal, margin plan, fee estimate and client interviews.Assist Project Director with project startup activities including, but not limited to: completing contract summary sheet and establishing a project number, development of a Project Chart of Accounts (COA) and Schedule of Values (SOV).Maintain thorough understanding of the McCarthy/Owner contract and any other aspects of the business deal.Financial responsibilities including, but not limited to: detailed Project Contract status report, oversee application for payment (AFP) process and timely payments, managing detailed project job costs and reports, producing monthly cost reporting, develop quarterly profit projections, manage project budget and report to leadership.Identify and manage risk and leverage experience to help identify solutions to project challenges.Responsible for overall quality assurance and quality control of the project Scope of Work.Develop and manage project schedule, integrate Equipment timelines into the overall construction project schedule and ensure Equipment activities occur in line with schedule.Understand the methodology of Last Responsible Moment and apply this approach to project design, schedule, and procurement.Develop, manage, and report equipment Budget to Client or Design Team.Assign staff responsibilities: develop and maintain member responsibilities, identifying all contractual and internal requirements. Identify project staff roles and responsibilities to provide clarity to meet these obligations.Responsible for successfully executing the project, providing deliverables on time and within budget, producing fully integrated and coordinated design deliverables, tracking and managing change on the project, and proactively communicate impact to budget and schedule to project team.Lead project staff development; identify opportunities for improvement and provide training to ensure each team member develops to their fullest potential. Communicate ongoing performance feedback to project staff.Establish/maintain good client relationships with owner, design team, trades, consultants, and vendors.Responsible for and/or lead Equipment portion of Design and Construction meetings.Contribute to the EQUIP business unit strategy and support the goals and objectives outlined in the EQUIP business plan such as assisting in the hiring potential EQUIP candidates and estimating in bidding projects related to Equipment.Embody the Values of McCarthy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Biomedical/Clinical Engineering, Healthcare Management preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.7+ Years of experience working on commercial, healthcare, science and technology, education, water, or industrial construction projects.Experience working in California and knowledge of HCAI regulations and required, if assigned to CA project(s).Experience leading successful project teams, including development of employee and maintaining relationships with project staff and internal/external entities.Ability to manage numerous project demands simultaneously, prioritize work and delegate tasks to team.Design-Build experience preferred.Strategic minded, collaborative and detail oriented.Computer skills including Attainia, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, BlueBeam, Revizto, Teams, Zoom, and Origami preferred.Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work preferred.Candidates must be willing to travel/relocate to construction projects or must be willing to travel within the United States up to 30% of the time.Demonstrate behaviors consistent with McCarthy core values (Genuine, We, Not I and All In) while maintaining a “value added” approach to Quality.

For California locations only, the salary range for this position is: $110,000 - $140,000. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.
