Thursday, September 19, 2024PurposeSupport full network of 8 Save A Lot Distribution Centers’ Transportation departments in both operational and financial areas. Manage all dedicated fleet and brokerage scheduling issues and service level performance. Primary contact for all inbound transportation financial review and data integrity for freight pricing and new item form completion. Manage all brokerage relationships, including the coordination of all communication of information, transmission of purchase orders, and processing of centralized DC brokerage freight billing.ResponsibilitiesManage strategic and operations direction of all inbound transportation activities across Save A Lot network of dedicated fleets and broker carriers.Oversee direction and process flow of negotiation with Merchandising on freight costs during bid cycles; Execute approval of all inbound transportation strategy decisions.Manage all backhaul and brokerage startup and continuous management activities through active performance metric monitoring.Oversee all inbound transportation pricing activities, including direct DC shipments, consolidation programs, and inter-network movements.Manage inbound transportation data integrity and monitoring; coordinate the validation of transportation pricing data, including internal costing and external allowance management.Manage approval process of inbound carrier payment, including invoice submission approval, invoice dispute resolution, carrier claims management, and accessorial fees application/validation.Manage all DC expenses and revenues associated with inbound transportation activities.Oversee and market excess dedicated fleet capacities, in order to achieve cost avoidance/profit from idle dedicated assets.Communicate/Collaborate with Supply Chain Engineers to establish SOPs and reporting mechanisms for all inbound transportation activities: Backhaul Revenue, Broker Credits, DC Transfers, New Item Forms, Cross Dock Management, Carrier Invoicing, Allowance Management, etc.About YouMinimum of seven (7) years’ experience in transportation operations required. Five (5) years’ experience in transportation operations if completed post-secondary education. Two (2) years of international transportation operations preferred. Supply Chain experience in a wholesale/retail environment preferred.Strong analytical skills required.
