Southwest Business Development Manager - Installed Sales

The primary purpose of this position is to grow installed skylight sales through the Skylight Specialist channel. This will be accomplished through the recruitment and development of new skylight specialists, as well as developing/improving the sales, marketing, installation activities and efficiencies of existing specialists within the Southwest market (AZ, NM, CO, TX, OK, LA, AR). The ideal location for this position will be in Dallas, TX. This role will support national recruiting efforts and recruit independently in target markets within the assigned geographic area. This role will help VELUX provide homeowners with specialized installers in all markets within the Southwest market, thereby “Transforming Spaces into Favorite Places.” This position will report directly to the South x West Regional Sales Manager with a dotted line to David Zenns, Installed Sales Manager.

Primary Functions

Execute and coordinate strategies and efforts focused on Skylight Specialist recruitment in the assigned geographic area above.Recruit beyond the traditional construction trades to include entrepreneurial-minded targets that embrace the Skylight Specialist model as a standalone/focused business.Grassroots efforts to locate, vet, and lead recruitment of Skylight Specialists within targeted markets.Lead and support all specialists within assigned geographic area through regular interaction. Primary focus on business development and expanding utilization of program tools and support (regular sales and marketing reviews, business practices, formal quarterly business reviews, etc.).Monitor metrics on the skylight specialist program, both internal growth as well as success metrics established to measure skylight specialist performance. Participate in setting installer goals and measuring them on the success of their business.Ensure requirements of programs are being met by all installers.Regularly lead Skylight Specialist training courses at the direction of Regional Manager at our local facilities, and support training for other program levels as needed. Heavy focus placed on the sales, marketing, and support aspects of the program, but also active on the installation side of training.Perform effective and high-level presentations focused on the specialist business, or any element of the installer program(s).This position will require regular overnight travel. The ability to travel overnight, 40-50%.Secondary Functions

Support field sales team in their efforts to increase Certified Installer base.Reporting on success of the overall program and recruiting efforts to Regional Manager and Installed Sales team.Monthly reporting on program growth and initiatives.Support overall sales team in areas outside of solely Specialist focus when deemed necessary by Regional Manager.Monthly Salary Range:

$8,005.00 (minimum) - $10,010 (midpoint). Compensation will be based on the skills and experience of the candidate.Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree is required.Minimum of three years of experience in Sales or a Business Development role is required.Experience in entrepreneurial selling/education preferred.Must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Proficient with key technology tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Must be able to accurately define a problem, recognize, secure, and evaluate major facts, and develop sound recommendations.Must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.Must have the ability to remain open-minded and change opinions based on new information and developments within the workplace.Knowledge of the building materials or construction industry is preferred.Must possess good organizational and planning skills.Able to demonstrate a high level of customer focus.Self-motivated and an impactful presenter.Must present a positive and professional image.Ability to perform the essential functions assigned to the position.Compliance with all rules of conduct, safety regulations and policies provided in Employee Handbooks, on Company bulletin boards/announcements, terms/conditions of employment or other means of communication is a requirement of the job.Employee Benefits
