Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

The Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC is currently recruiting an Assistant Director of Nursing for our multi-specialty medical clinic. The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse, possess strong managerial skills, and be experienced in interviewing, hiring, and training patient care employees; preparing employee work schedules and assigning duties; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. The role also involves evaluating nursing activities to ensure quality patient care, ordering supplies for clinic physicians, and enforcing OSHA requirements and guidelines.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESConsults with the Director of Patient Care concerning administration issues and problems. Assumes responsibility for the department in the absence of the director.Directs and supervises nursing service personnel in accordance with clinic, governmental, and other regulatory standards.Participates in the development of departmental goals and objectives.Recommends departmental policies and procedures. Updates and maintains the nursing procedure manual.Reviews and approves payroll records under the guidance of the Director of Patient Care.Supervises patient care needs and suggests solutions to patient care crisis problems.Designs work schedules, hours, and duty assignments. Assesses staffing patterns and recommends changes.Assists in the selection, training/orientation, and performance evaluation of departmental personnel.Assists in developing and conducting nursing/medical assistant educational programs for staff.Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.Participates in professional development and maintains professional affiliations.Maintains patient confidentiality.Other duties may be assigned.Basic Skills RequiredRN (State of Louisiana License)ACLS certification encouragedSpecific Skills RequiredFifth-year college or university program certificate; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.One year of experience in a clinic setting preferred.Excellent communication skills.EPIC EMR experience preferred.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programEmployee discountFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insuranceSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayWork Location:
