The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will assist the Director of Nursing in supervising the hospice nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care, accurate documentation, and efficient resource management. This role involves leading nursing operations, promoting teamwork, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ADON will focus on improving productivity, adhering to clinical guidelines, and managing the financial elements of patient care.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Masters degree preferred.
Licensure:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Current BLS/ CPR certification.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Experience in hospice or palliative care preferred.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in clinical documentation and compliance standards.
Ability to analyze data and implement performance improvement strategies.
Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with staff, patients and their families, physicians, and their teams.
Capacity to manage stressful situations and address patient/family complaints independently, ensuring the agency delivers the highest quality of care.
Supportive and empathetic approach to the needs of both staff and patients/families.
Proven expertise in managing all aspects of terminal care, particularly in pain and symptom management and hospice nursing.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with hospice regulations and quality assurance processes.
Understanding of budgeting and financial management related to patient care.
Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid standards and state licensure requirements.
Technology:
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare software.
Other Requirements:
Installation of company communication application on cellular device.
Must have own transportation, current LA drivers license, and provide proof of liability insurance which meets state requirements.
Must be able to travel to and from all patient homes without assistance.
