GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for ensuring a timely and efficient response to all security concerns in support of the Golden 1 security mission of protecting persons and safeguarding assets and information.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

Work alongside contracted guard service to ensure timely and efficient response to all security concerns including protecting persons and safeguarding assets and information. Ensure all issues are reported to Loss Prevention & Security management in a timely manner.

Monitor lobby traffic ensuring all people entering the building have proper authorization, i.e., Golden 1 issued access badge. Process visitors and issue temporary badges using the visitor badging system.

Perform searches of baggage, purses, totes, and other containers carried by individuals entering/exiting the premises in accordance with policy and procedures. Ensure that visitor, employee, and vendor processing and searches for confidential and privileged information is conducted with the highest standard of care and professionalism.

Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.

Perform security walkthroughs of departments to ensure information assets are properly secured in accordance with set guidelines and procedures.

Communicate with facilities, trades, and vendors to ensure that building maintenance concerns are effectively addressed.

Respond to threats and security violations on company property. Take proper action to such threats and notify law enforcement or life safety authorities in a timely and prudent manner. Assist in building evacuations and other building crises in a manner which protects credit union employees, visitors, and property to the fullest extent possible.

Monitor cameras and access control systems to look for suspicious activities. Report issues with the systems to Corporate Security in a timely manner.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS:

Effective oral and written communication skills required to interpret, resolve, and document security and related issues, train and evaluate staff, and perform other related tasks.

Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate a personal computer and other standard office equipment.

INTERNAL:

Visitors, guard staff, vendors, suppliers, members, local law enforcement, and government agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Successful completion of a high school curriculum is required. College courses are desired.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) desired.

EXPERIENCE:

Two years or more of Physical/Corporate Security/Safety, Executive Protection, or related experience. Financial Institution operations, policies, and procedures are preferred. Law enforcement experience desired.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Strong oral and written communication skills, knowledge of facsimile machine, personal computer, and related software, and interpersonal skills.

NON-TECHNICAL:

Enthusiasm and interest in security, loss/fraud prevention, and related services; strong sense of ethics and professionalism; communicate effectively in providing security guidance and expertise to other staff and the ability to prepare clear and concise written documents. Strong organizational and time management skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged sitting throughout the workday.

Corrected vision within the normal range.

Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.

Moderate travel by car and/or public conveyance. Minimal travel throughout the United States to increase knowledge and skills in the security area by car or public conveyance. Minimal travel locally by car or public conveyance to resolve security issues and attend meetings.

Occasionally required changing work schedule to alternate shifts to cover staff shortages and/or high volume periods.

Occasionally long work hours may be required to accomplish tasks.

LICENSES:Possession of a valid California driver’s license is desired but not required.
