Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company's sole discretion and the wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $58,571-$79,246.Position Summary:The Safety Program Manager (SPM) is an integral position to the operations of the Sacramento Native American Health Center. The SPM’s primary responsibilities include development and maintenance of safety programming, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, supporting effective systems and controls and building and maintain a culture of safety. The SPM will establish safety plan policies and procedures, ensuring proper training, documentation and compliance with various safety plan requirements. The SPM functions at the organization’s subject Matter Expert in areas of Safety and functions as a part of the HR team.Essential Functions:Acts as the Safety Point Person for the organization, with responsibility for creating and maintaining SNAHC’s Safety Plan.Develops and maintains the emergency action plan, disaster preparedness plan and all other legally mandated safety plans.Maintains and oversees required staff education training programs (Health and Safety, Hazard Communication, Exposure Control, Emergency Preparedness, Globally Harmonized System). In partnership with Human Resources, ensure all clinic managers/site administrators are properly trained and oriented.Chairs the Safety Committee and designs and oversees risk reduction and safety projects to completion.Supports the Patient Safety and Risk Management Committee and researches and analyzes risk reduction and safety data and reports back to leadership.Ensures administrative safety compliance as required by Federal and State law.Partners with Human Resources in managing workers compensation claims, makes recommendations for safety improvements when trends emerge.Completes ergonomic assessments, makes recommendations for equipment, and procures authorized equipment needed to fulfill requests for ergonomic accommodation.Maintains environmental safety and facility licenses, registrations, and permits.Supervises and manages safety related facility accreditation and regulation requirements, site visits and standards.Complies with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to the position including HIPAA, sexual harassment, Scope of Practice, OSHA, SCAR reporting, etc.Actively participates in internal quality improvement teams. Works with team members proactively to support quality improvement initiatives in accordance with the mission and strategic goals for the organization, federal and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.At all times demonstrates cooperative behavior with supervisors, colleagues, patients, and the community.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:2 years of experience in a Safety Role.Track record of implementing sustainable programs that led to positive behavior changes and risk reduction in a professional setting.Ability to work some evenings and weekends on occasion, as required.Reliable transportation.Preferred Qualifications:Cal-OSHA 30 General Industry Certification.Certified Safety Manager.FQHC experience.Knowledge of traditional, cultural, and spiritual practices of the diverse AI/AN community, as well as ability to work with other racially, culturally, ethnically, and financially diverse populations.
