Category Analyst

is a resource to provide in-depth analysis to determine category strategy and opportunities. The successful candidate will assist the HQ Category Management Team in the development and execution of category and brand growth stories, category and competitive analyses, shelving insights and recommendations, identifying market insights through the collection of relevant local and global market trends and shopper research techniques. This position will support a Category Manager II in all functions of the category management process.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide detailed category and brand insightsRegular business performance reporting and trackingAssist with development and implementation of assortment, merchandising and pricing recommendation at the national levelCategory Team analytical & administrative support (Business reviews, database management, etc)Provide market insights through the collection of relevant local and global market trends and shopper research techniquesEngages directly with internal and external sales teams on category presentationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Management or related field2 years’ experience in a Sales, Marketing or Analyst roleMust have demonstrated skills working on projects and analytic analysis, including brand insight and category planogram designProficiency with MS Excel, Power Point, and WordAbility to work well in a team environmentMust be self-motivated, possess excellent communication and organization skills, project a professional image, and interact effectively with all levels within the organizationInterest and ability to relocate as necessaryExcellent verbal and written presentation skills, with the ability to analyze and understand the data and then effectively communicate those insights to both internal and external audiencesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSInternshipExperience utilizing data: POS, Retailer Specific, Panel and other consumer-based data providersBase salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer.
