A law firm in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Corporate Associate Attorney - Tax to join their cross-office tax and corporate transactional teams. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of law firm experience in U.S. federal income tax matters, with a strong academic background and excellent written and oral communication skills.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-office tax and corporate transactional teams to provide comprehensive legal services.Offer expert legal advice on U.S. federal income tax issues related to corporate transactions.Draft, review, and negotiate complex tax-related agreements and documentation.Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to support corporate strategies and ensure compliance.Structure transactions to maximize tax efficiency and adhere to federal tax regulations.Manage client relationships, delivering clear and effective communication on tax matters.Monitor and interpret changes in tax laws and regulations, advising clients on their implications.Participate in strategic planning and discussions regarding tax and corporate matters.RequirementsMinimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm with a focus on U.S. federal income tax matters.Strong academic credentials, including a JD from an accredited law school.Demonstrated experience handling complex tax-related legal issues and corporate transactions.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.CertificationsAdmission to the Minnesota Bar (or eligibility to obtain admission).Certification or specialization in tax law is advantageous but not required.SkillsIn-depth knowledge of U.S. federal income tax laws and regulations.Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong drafting and negotiation skills.Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.Proficiency in legal research tools and tax software.Benefits OfferedProductivity and discretionary bonuses.Comprehensive life, health, accident, and disability insurance.401(k) plan with firm contributions.
