https://industrial-engineering.uark.edu/Summary of Job Duties:The Computer Support Manager is responsible for a wide range of activities related to computer support such as the implementation, maintenance, and utilization of faculty, staff, and graduate students' computers and printers.The Computer Support Manager duties include the following:Install software and hardware as needed/requested for all Industrial Engineering and Biological Engineering personnel regardless of physical location.Provide training for computer hardware and software, which includes on-demand, face-to-face, and classroom training.Research software and hardware errors and utilize solutions to fix these errors and minimize system downtime.Track inventory for Industrial Engineering to ensure no equipment loss.Train one or two student workers to assist with the workload.Help set up audio/video for departmental events.Provide assistance and maintenance in our robotics lab on equipment such as 3D printers, robotic arms, the controllers, and computers that run them.Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher educationAt least six years of experience in computer support, including two years of supervisory experienceORCompletion of technical training in computer science, data processing, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial settingAt least eight years of experience in computer support including two years of supervisory experiencePreferred Qualifications:Demonstrated work history that provides high-level customer service and computer support, both face-to-face and remote supportExperience with Windows, Linux, and macOS administrationExperience with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop (Virtual Apps and Desktops)Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Knowledge of the application of systems analysis and programming in automated information systemsKnowledge of the limitations and use of mainframe and microcomputer hardware and softwareKnowledge of supervisory practices and techniquesKnowledge of budgetary proceduresAbility to supervise a small to medium-sized computer support staffAbility to compile reports and make recommendations concerning hardware/software support functions and budgetary requirementsAbility to analyze computer support system problems and devise corrective measuresAbility to read and interpret technical literature and evaluate product recommendationsSalary Information:Commensurate with education and experienceRequired Documents to Apply:Cover Letter/Letter of Application, List of three Professional References (name, email, business title), ResumeOptional Documents:Proof of Veteran StatusRecruitment Contact Information:Ashley Reeves,
