Huitt-Zollars Inc. is seeking an experienced water resources engineer for an immediate full-time opportunity in their Austin office. Preference is a licensed engineer in the state of Texas with 20 years of experience.
Experience in the Austin area is desired. The role will include providing senior oversight of a diverse range of stormwater projects and serving as a Subject Matter Expert in Fluvial Geomorphology.
The position will include working collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering analysis and design for public works infrastructure and transportation projects.Location:

Bachelor's Degree in EngineeringDuties:Perform as a Fluvial Geomorphology Subject Matter Expert.Perform Project Management and Task Management duties for water resources projects.Perform business development activities.Manage hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permittingPerform Quality Control reviews of a wide range of hydrology, hydraulics, scour, and geomorphic projectsMentor EIT, PE, and Project Management staff regarding hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic theory and practiceConduct site visits and document findings.Write and coordinate preparation of graphic materials for presentations and documents.Key Responsibilities:Undertakes Project Manager responsibilities for major projects ($2.0+ million annual billing)Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client).Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projectsCultivates relationships with clients and holds strong relationships with clientsUnderstands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process including weekly rhythmTakes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and is responsible for assigned portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy.Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.Actively engages and participates in the training, coaching, and mentoring of junior staffUnderstands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current.Role Competencies:Sharing Information:
