Job Description:
Management of freight partners to facilitate continuous supply of product to the distribution network.
Assist with development and execution of a comprehensive carrier strategy in conjunction with our 3PL partner.
Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that enable tracking of key cost drivers for carrier management in conjunction with our 3PL partner.
Assist in developing and managing RFP carrier bids along with analytics that support service and cost strategies.
Maintain reports on critical transportation operating metrics such as carrier performance, service failures, and OS&D claims.
Analyze transit data, costs, trends, and delivery performance across all transit modes.
Ensure metric data is reported accurately and timely.
Analyze transportation supplier issues and facilitate corrective action in conjunction with our 3PL partners.
Drive, manage, and report continuous improvements in cost management and service.
Benchmark and drive freight optimization.
Analyze Cash Reconciliation Fund to ensure accuracy and identify improvement opportunities.
Maintain systematic freight, accessorial, and fee pricing.
Perform quarterly business reviews and develop/implement programs to reduce costs & improve SC processes.
Requirements:
BS/BA in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related field.
2+ years’ relevant experience and at least one year in an operational setting, preferably logistics.
Understanding of logistics/distribution in the foodservice industry strongly preferred.
Advanced data processing skills, Microsoft Excel power user. Experience using VBA/Excel macros, and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint. PowerBI experience is a plus.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills including data evaluation, solution presentation, & implementation.
Comfortable managing conflict between partners. Sound decision-maker with a firm, but fair, leadership style.
Ability to communicate in a convincing manner and can interact effectively at all organizational levels.
High initiative with hands-on/multi-tasking capabilities. Performance/results-oriented with strong work ethic.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral/written, with a customer service mentality.
Track record of building positive, respected relationships with team members, other departments, and supplier/distributor communities. Experience leading meetings effectively.
