The Data Analyst will be directly responsible for building and delivering key analytical insights using a variety of tools. This role will identify useful insights and trends in data and use those insights to help the organization make better decisions. The Data Analyst will also be responsible for identifying and bringing forward key findings that can be used to improve processes. We are currently utilizing Netezza, Cognos, SAP Analytics Cloud, and PowerBI.What does a Business Intelligence Data Analyst do?Regularly communicates with business users and functional teams to understand the requirements from provided functional designs or business requirements/use cases and transforms them into technical designs.Supports all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including analysis, design, development, testing and implementation along with the generation of required documentation throughout each phase of the project.Develops and maintains complex data models.Designs and develops reports and dashboards.Extracts and analyzes large and complex data sets.Participates in troubleshooting incidents reported to IT and assists in identifying the root cause of issues.Provides support to key business decisions using data and analytics.Ensures new implementations meet standards and provides guidance to best practices related to data analytics, data modeling, etc.Coordinates activities with other technical staff and contractors as required.Supports storm restoration efforts.What does it take to be a Business Intelligence Data Analyst?Required:Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field and at least 3 years of related professional experience in areas such as Netezza, Cognos, SAP Analytics Cloud or a closely related field. Equivalent of education and experience may be considered.Experience with data analytics, including deriving insights from large or complex datasets.Demonstrated experience in designing and/or building analytics reports, insights, or dashboards.Demonstrated strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and strategic thinking ability; proven ability to discern critical from minor problems.Strong SQL skills and knowledge.Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organizational technology, processes, and priorities.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels.Valid driver’s license.Preferred:5+ years of experience performing data analysis.5+ years of experience utilizing Netezza/Cognos.2+ years of experience utilizing SAP Analytics Cloud.Experience in energy & utilities or services industry.Applications will be accepted until February 05, 2024.
