Job Description:

Under the direction of the Vice President, National Sales Division (“NSD”), for Nissin International Transport USA (“NIT”), the Senior Director, National Sales, is responsible for aligning the National Sales initiatives and strategies with NIT corporate goals and objectives. The Senior Director of NSD’s mission is to coach, develop, and manage a successful national sales team of Nissin sales personnel in an effort to provide consistent sales revenue and growth for existing and new customer accounts for the U.S. and Japan (U.S. based subsidiaries) businesses. The Senior Director, National Sales will proactively seek and acquire new customer business opportunities. Ongoing strong logistics sales network of customer and professional relationships is required.

The position will work closely and in conjunction with the Vice President, NSD to develop sales direction and strategies to ensure current and future business development and success. A major initiative for the Senior Director, National Sales is to maximize new customer sales opportunities across NIT divisions, branches and services. The position will focus sales on key corporate business development initiatives and objectives set by the Vice President, National Sales, Leadership Team, and Nissin Corporation.

The Senior Director, National Sales will align sales initiatives and action plans with NSD forecasts and budgets. The Senior Director, National Sales will work closely with our Marketing company initiatives and administer the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Management and deployment of sales team members and processes

Cultivate and network with current and new customers to provide sales opportunities

Conduct customer calls and visits to develop sales prospects

Administrate and Identify new sales opportunities.

Development and implementation of action plan to achieve sales goals and objectives.

Identify and improve sales processes.

Support the growth of existing and new accounts through planned objectives.

Provide direction for business development strategies and service offerings in new verticals.

Maximize alliance partnerships to provide customer solutions and increase new business

Oversee, mentor, and motivate account executives and agents to maximize sales efficiency and output.

Collaborate, align and execute key marketing strategies in conjunction with sales initiatives to achieve business goals.

Prepare and provide sales forecasts and reports

Establish and create the National Sales departmental budget in collaboration with Executive management and in conjunction with corporate financial goals and targets.

Various responsibilities and projects as assigned by Executive management, from time to time.

Qualifications:

Education: BA/BS undergraduate degree in a business related field.

Minimum of 10-plus years of sales experience within the transportation, logistics, supply chain management industry.

Established logistics industry network and presence with accomplished business and professional relationships.

Demonstrated senior management experience and developed skill sets in communication, planning, decision making and problem solving.

Strong network of current customers and a “book of business.”

Proven track record of a strong business acumen, effective account management, logistics sales record, and successful negotiation skills.

Bilingual (English/Japanese) reading, writing, and verbal proficiency at business professional (native) level of communication, desired

Possess flexibility and demonstrate adaptability with change management/environment

Experience driving sales and revenue with large, national customers.

Ability to articulate client strategies by using industry knowledge to expand business opportunities

Proven industry track record of winning new business and building strategic partnerships.

Proficiency with sales and marketing strategies and aligned initiatives to drive customer and business growth.

Experience with CRM management and administration of customer data and lead generation.

The ability to work as part of a corporate team, lead a team, and perform consistently at high levels.

Strong organizational skills and strategic planning.

A sincere passion for encouraging and impacting personnel; motivational and influential, positive leadership skill sets.

Must be detailed oriented and able to prioritize and organize ongoing projects

Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Business travel may range from 40% - 50%;
