Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to Public Administration, Business Administration, Architecture, Construction Science, Planning Management, or related field, plus five (5) years of experience, two (2) years of which were in a lead or supervisory capacity.Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years. A master’s degree may substitute for required experience up to a maximum of two (2) years.Licenses or Certifications:

NoneThe Facilities Services Division of the Austin Public Library is currently seeking an experienced Facilities Planning Manager (Operations Manager). This role involves overseeing multiple work units. The ideal candidate’s key responsibilities include effective supervision, strategic planning, warehouse and delivery operations, building safety, and bid and contract management. The candidate should have experience managing a large workforce and implementing new practices.Application Instructions

Driver Safety Program , you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security).Proven experience in managing facility-related projects.Experience in preparing reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.Ability to manage crises and unexpected situations effectively.Experience in budget development and management.Experience in managing contracts for municipal master agreements.Experience with energy management systems and sustainability practices.Experience in creating inclusive environments.Ability to travel to multiple locations.Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

Manages a division or unit that provides facilities support.Oversees construction of new facilities and building renovation.Prepares, submits, and reviews division or unit goals, objectives, and accomplishments.Oversees the Capital Improvement and Program (CIP) management.Ensures that all bond election documents are completed and submitted on time.May oversee lease agreements and land acquisitions.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of supervisory and managerial techniques and principles.Knowledge of local ordinances and building codes.Skill in oral and written communication.Skill in data analysis and problem solving.Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.Criminal Background Investigation
