POSITION TITLE:

Economic Development Program ManagerOBJECTIVE:

To promote culturally appropriate balanced economic development in the Bristol Bay Region.QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must demonstrate their ability to accomplish the Essential Job Results. **Job knowledge/documentation required:** Bachelors degree in business, economics, rural development, or related field. Two years planning experience preferred. Work experience in economic development, business management, or related fields may substitute for education requirements. Must be goal oriented and able to work independently with little direct supervision. Ability to independently track multiple tasks and provide follow-through to ensure timelines and funding requirements are met. Job requires enjoyment working with a wide range of people and backgrounds, and ability to demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Computer skills: MS programs, email/internet, and database programs. Familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people, cultures, and their economic needs. Must be willing/able to travel occasionally in and out of region.Promote Economic DevelopmentUnder the direction of the Strategy Committee, developing the Bristol Bay Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (BBCEDS) every five years, updating annually, and administering projects that implement the BBCEDS.Monitoring and responding to key private sector, federal and state initiatives relating to economic development in the Bristol Bay region, including proposed legislation and rulemaking, regulatory changes, and permitting.Providing guidance to Bristol Bay entrepreneurs who are starting or expanding businesses.Networking with Bristol Bay entities promoting economic development and making connections between those working on similar projects.Provide Fiscal ManagementAdministering Program budgetary and contractual obligations.Submitting timely, accurate reports to funding agencies.Identifying and pursuing new funding sources.Keep Management InformedPreparing timely comprehensive monthly activities reports to the Program Development Director.Developing written detailed program annual operating plans with goals and outcomes, and mid-year reports and annual reports documenting accomplishments toward achieving program operating plans.Monitor and Improve Program and Service QualityEvaluating and implementing the CEDS document and annual operating plans and making necessary improvements.Participating on BBNA planning teams and similar groups to enhance overall effectiveness of the programs.
