The Centers for Student Engagement (CSE) provides a wide breadth of exciting and culturally enriching events for the Florida International University (FIU) and South Florida community. We pride ourselves on the high level of execution, professionalism, and exciting programs that we offer to our students. As a program unit within CSE, the area oversees Education & Enrichment (EE) trainings, implementation of the EVERFI online training, advises the Student Ambassadors, creates and administers programs and events geared towards advocacy and enrichment, and coordinates University-wide efforts for various heritage and history month celebrations.Duties include:Work to assist the Program Manager with programs and services.Support the modification, evaluation, and facilitation of Programs on Demand workshops.Assist in coordination of programs for Cultural Heritage Month programming for underrepresented histories.Support the efforts of the Student Ambassadors.Contribute creative ways to support students and meet their current needs.Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students on both campuses.Contribute to and assist with administering the bi-weekly e-Newsletter.Assist social media team in managing our social media including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, website, etc.Support event/special committees as needed with the office and other Division of Academic and Student Affairs offices.Job Category

Applicants should possess some knowledge and/or passion for learning about the work as well as a desire to support advocacy for underrepresented and marginalized student populations.Successful candidates should also have an interest in learning about and contributing creatively to student development and retention efforts.Applicants are expected to support event planning and coordination, work with social media, learn administrative support skills, and work with a team of student and professional staff.Who May Apply

Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.Work Schedule
