Operations Manager - Solar Operations and Maintenance

Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for an Operations Manager based in Westborough, MA reporting directly to the Director of Operations and managing the Operations Division for Ameresco's West Coast Commercial O&M projects. This candidate must have the desire and ability to work with the Director to deliver unparalleled customer service, meet financial targets and have the insatiable desire to make the group number one in the nation.
Responsibilities:
Hire, train and manage employees, including developing a program for hiring, training, and retaining employees.Give technical support for field technicians and subcontractors for repairing, testing, troubleshooting, inspecting, installing, removing, and maintaining solar site equipment including solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment.Recognize safety hazards and follow safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.Create living processes, policies, and procedures with the objective of gaining efficiencies.Provide employees understanding their roles and responsibilities and efficiencies.Continuous improvement within the group.Directly managing three technicians to relieve pressure off field supervisors and to have a direct understanding of the technicians and field supervisors’ jobs.Work with team to manage and meet cost budgets.Provide leadership to on-site staff, sub-contractors, and other parties.Investigate and resolve customer complaints.Occasional travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED.Minimum of 5 years of commercial solar operations and maintenance experience and minimum of 2 years experience supervising field operations.Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by state of residence.Being available one weekend per month to take phone calls from field supervisors and technicians as questions may arise.
Additional Qualifications:
Strong work ethic and leadership and communication skills.Solid computer skills.Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).The ability to work in different environmental conditions.Excellent customer service skills.Knowledge of electricity, voltage and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements.
