We are seeking a skilled and experienced Battery Energy Storage Operations Manager to oversee the efficient functioning and maintenance of Ameresco & Customer owned Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in energy storage technologies, operations management, and a proactive approach to ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. This position will report to the Vice President of Operations.

Responsibilities:Manage day-to-day operations and personnel, ensuring smooth functioning, monitoring, and maintenance.Prepare cost estimates and proposals.Collaborate with other Operations and Maintenance Solar Divisions.Work with the Remote-Operations-Control-Center (ROC) to implement manufacturer’s DAS systems (training, installation, API to AssetPlanner).Develop strategies to optimize energy storage performance, maximize efficiency, and minimize downtime.Coordinate and schedule regular maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs to ensure system reliability and longevity.Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements pertaining to energy storage operations.Lead a team of operations personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and adherence to safety protocols.Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to procure necessary equipment, parts, and services required for maintenance and operations.Work with Field Supervisors and Technicians to address operational issues promptly, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to resolve problems.Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to operations, maintenance, and performance metrics.Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and technological advancements to enhance overall system efficiency and effectiveness.Perform other duties as required by Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Energy Management, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within the battery energy storage or renewable energy industry.

Additional Qualifications:Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to handling operational challenges.Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Proficient in MS Office and CMMS Software.Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques for performance evaluation.Familiarity with safety protocols, regulations, and compliance standards in the energy sector.In-depth knowledge of battery energy storage technologies, control systems, and relevant industry standards.Occasional travel will be required.
