About the role
We are looking for a
Manager – Transportation & Logistics
to support the delivery of business objectives through effective management of the contracting service provider, continuous improvement in achieving a high rate on Delivery In Full On Time to the correct location. This position will also be responsible for improving Kennecott supply chain and procurement processes, supporting service provider to decrease attrition, and implementing processes by using technology to simplify and improve efficiencies.
This role is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to make significant contributions to the spare parts process which is integral to schedule and unscheduled maintenance activities for Kennecott assets and resolve a significant source of frustration which goes to the heart of stable operations and our drive towards ‘best operator’.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop appropriate KPIs with contracting partner and drive behaviors to sustainably achieve these KPIs
Provide development & execution of a strategic roadmap to implement best in class warehouse practices through technology to enable the warehousing and logistics processes
Create a program of maintenance and capital improvements to support move to best in class
Improving process to be error proof and resistant to disruption on human behaviors (increase visibility on where is my part?)
Effectively leading inventory control, repairables, parts expediters and asset disposal to achieve maximum benefit to Kennecott
Leading by example to develop a culture of care, courage & curiosity
Implement SPS spare parts practice
Assist on improvement of accuracy of key master data (asset criticality, Bill of Materials (BOMs), material masters, parts catalogue, and Outline Agreements (OAs))
Appropriate configuration of warehouses (visibility, asset degradation) and efficient and effective goods receipt and goods issue practices
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
7+ years of experience in work management, logistics, and/or procurement
An ability to follow contractor management standards and maximize the value of the contract to Kennecott
Demonstrated experience in delivering continuous improvement initiatives and projects
Demonstrated knowledge of SAP
It will also be beneficial if you have:
Experience working in maintenance execution or operations
Lean Six Sigma methodology experience or Black Belt Certification
