Assistant Director for Intramural Sports

Austin, TexasJob Responsibilities:Coordinate the daily operations of the Intramural Program, including programming and calendar development, tournaments, and special event scheduling.Develop policies, rules, regulations, manage registration, and promote events.Manage part-time and student personnel, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating employees and officials.Plan and conduct meetings and training for officials, assistants, and supervisors.Coordinate and monitor payroll and all aspects of the UT Officials Association.Provide on-site coordination and evaluation of activities, addressing and resolving issues, problems, or conflicts.Interact with program participants and personnel to ensure positive experiences and development opportunities.Steward fiscal operations and associated resources for the program in coordination with the Sr. Assistant Director of Intramural Sports and Program Director.Prepare and monitor various budgets, maintain accounts, oversee purchasing, procure equipment and supplies, coordinate contracts, and ensure compliance.Monitor fees, charges, and refunds, and make budget-related program recommendations.Actively pursue outreach opportunities within the university community to promote activities and events.Serve as a liaison to campus departments for collaborative opportunities.Identify new opportunities to engage the varied interests of the campus population.Attend conferences, events, and activities to maintain current knowledge relative to collegiate recreation, higher education, and sports officiating.Provide assistance and backup support to other program areas.Serve as a contributing member of staff; attend and participate in meetings, serve on committees, and perform other duties as assigned.Utilize strategic planning and thinking, independent judgment, critical analysis, creativity, innovation, and initiative in all areas of responsibility.
