Duties

Responsible for providing direction and supervision to a two-person survey crew.

Responsible for all necessary training of survey crew.

Evaluates and reports on performance of crew member(s).

Makes field notes and files daily survey reports.

Performs survey computations.

Plans and coordinates survey fieldwork on time to support project requirements.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum two years of field experience as a party chief working on land development, commercial and residential subdivisions.

Able to demonstrate an established career in land surveying specific to land development and construction projects.

Ability to do field reconnaissance of a site, searching for property corners, setting up and traversing control for a field survey, and having a good knowledge of reading construction plans and setting and checking property monument position on a daily basis.

The Party Chief will have knowledge of boundary surveys, topographic surveys, land survey plats, subdivision plats, construction staking, ALTA surveys, leveling, traversing, GPS, total stations, and data collectors.

Position requires working 40-hour weeks with overtime, as required.

Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must be willing to submit to a pre-employment substance abuse test.
