St. Patrick Center provides opportunities for self-sufficiency and dignity to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Individuals and families build permanent, positive change in their lives through safe and affordable housing, sound mental and physical health, and employment and financial stability.Working collaboratively with individuals, businesses, government and other service providers, St. Patrick Center will end chronic homelessness in the St. Louis region through Housing First, an evidence-based practice that tells us to remove barriers, do intake and assessment early, move people into housing and offer them support to achieve their goals.St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities, is hiring a Manager of Grants. The manager is responsible for the overall organization and execution of the grant application process to support the agency’s operating budget, support the team primarily through grant administration, and may also participate in fundraising activities which includes the development of grant proposals, collecting/managing programmatic and outcome data, and working with program and administrative team members throughout the grant development process. The grant administration responsibilities consist of facilitating informative meetings about grant awards and requirements and assisting program, finance, and data team members in the completion of grant reports to ensure compliance of grantor requirements. The core working hours of this position are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The salary range is $65,000 to $75,000 a year.Job Responsibilities

Identify appropriate sources of restricted support, using current directories, publications, professional contacts and other information sources to achieve financial goals.Identify and research new corporate, government and foundation grant opportunities.Assist in recommendation of appropriate grant opportunities and strategies to Senior Leadership team in monthly meetings, as directed by Senior Director of Programs Operations.Cultivate, steward and renew all existing grants.Gather information through interviews, etc. that will easily allow the concept of program project seeking funding to be understood by the person responsible for implementing the program.Oversee the Grant Team to ensure that Grant Writers compile, write and edit all grant applications exhibiting strong expository writing skills and high-level command of grammar and spelling.Manage the day-to-day workflow of the Grant Writers.Develop individual grant proposals in accordance with each grant-making organization’s preferences and follow exactly each grant-making organization’s guidelines; apply additional supportive material if requested.Coordinate with Grant Writers to research and write progress reports when required by a grant-making organization that has funded a project or program.Prepare and submit funding requests by deadline with input from Finance; prepare grant amendments, when appropriate.Facilitate and coordinate non-government and government grants.Attend and participate in St. Patrick Center Housing Program meetings.Establish relationships with foundations and corporations in coordination with the Senior Director of Philanthropy and the Major Gifts Team.Coordinate with Philanthropy Team to ensure that funders are appropriately acknowledged for their gifts.Explore new opportunities for funding that aligns with St. Patrick Center mission.Incorporate current information and reporting technology to facilitate grants development and reporting.Develop and maintain information systems to monitor grant deadlines, expenditures, and all other information relevant to securing and fulfilling granting requirements.Other duties as assigned.Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college required.Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional grant writing setting with a proven record of successful performance required.Skills Required for Success in Job

Advanced skill and experience with Excel.Strong knowledge of budgets and financial analysis.Working knowledge of research techniques, information sources and technology.Experience working with low-income and homeless individuals and families.Expertise in grant compliance, including but not limited to governmental funding agencies.Experience writing and presenting reports with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Highly developed interpersonal skills with ability to relate well with colleagues, diverse group of senior professionals and staff at all levels of agency.Ability to handle several projects simultaneously and excellent organizational skills.Ability to work well under pressure to meet inflexible deadlines.Detail and deadline oriented with strong analytical and interpretive skills.Self-motivated, flexible, positive attitude.Understanding and empathy toward the needs of low-income or homeless families and basic understanding of homeless population and its many diverse groups.Ability to review documents for completeness, accuracy, authorization, regulatory and procedural compliance.Ability to analyze compliance problems and recommend solutions.Maintain accurate records and files.Work independently and exercise initiative and sound judgment.Direct Reports
