Brunswick County Public Utility is currently accepting applications for a

Utility Asset Manager

to join our team and help ensure we continue to provide clean, reliable, and efficient water and wastewater services to customers across Brunswick County.The Utility Asset Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Utility’s Asset Management Plan and program. The Utility Asset Manager will develop, recommend and implement asset management policy and strategy for the Utilities Department. This position will oversee and maintain the County’s existing computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to ensure the strategic management of physical assets involved in the delivery of water and wastewater services to manage risks, optimize operations, and ensure uninterrupted service to customers. Work includes:Building and overseeing an effective condition-based assessment program.Preparing control strategies to reduce risk and improve asset utilization.Determining predictive strategies and performing root cause failure analysis to reduce down time and increase production.Building an effective asset risk mitigation program to improve asset reliability with reduced risk at optimized spending and capital investments, while maintaining acceptable levels of service.Supervising Asset management and GIS staff.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and supervisory skills are a must. The Utility Asset Manager reports to the Deputy Director - Design and Construction.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in information systems, asset management, finance, economics, engineering, or a closely related field;

AND

five (5) years of experience in a technical and administrative capacity, including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience;

OR

an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver License required.Experience utilizing databases, GIS technology, and computerized maintenance management systems is required.Experience performing facility condition assessments is required.The demonstrated ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with high accuracy and strong attention to detail is required.Physical Requirements:Must be physically able to operate personal computer, related office equipment, and motor vehicle.
