Overview
The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Operations Area Manager Spvr for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Under the direction of and reporting to the Associate Director of Environmental Services, manages, plans, estimates and issues work orders and schedules day-to-day custodial services in buildings under his/her purview.Provides managerial leadership to frontline supervisors with overall responsibility for custodial operations on the day & evening shift custodial operations on the New Brunswick/Piscataway campus.Position Status

ABPQualificationsMinimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.A minimum of five (5) years' experience in custodial operations or building maintenance, three (3) of which must have been at the supervisory level.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills and the ability to interact with a diverse customer base.Should understand the concept of "Green Cleaning" and personnel management in all aspects.Preferred Qualifications
APPA Facilities Manager Certification, or equivalent experience preferred.The ability to speak, write and understand Spanish is preferred. Experience with Computerized Maintenance, Work Loading, Time and Attendance software and Purchasing Systems is preferred.Equipment Utilized
Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Marketplace purchasing software, KRONOS time keeping software, CMMS software.Special Conditions
