Overview:

The Shipping Supervisor at HPL Apollo is responsible for overseeing the daily shipping operations within a temperature-controlled environment, ensuring the efficient and timely dispatch of perishable goods. This role involves managing a team of shipping personnel, coordinating with drivers and warehouse staff, and maintaining accurate records of all shipments. The Shipping Supervisor will also be involved in the hands-on execution of tasks, working alongside the team to ensure compliance with company processes and motivating staff to achieve daily goals.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Organization:

Organize and prepare all paperwork provided to drivers for their routes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Conduct regular inspections of trucks, forklifts, and other equipment, and coordinate necessary maintenance to ensure all machinery is in optimal working condition.

Assign specific tasks to team members based on time constraints and operational priorities, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Execution and Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of all outgoing shipments from the warehouses, including the preparation of shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, and other necessary paperwork.

Support warehouse activities and ensure proper use and control of the inventory management system.

Manage communications regarding the departure and arrival of trucks, and organize routes to optimize delivery schedules.

Ensure that all shipping processes are followed accurately and efficiently, minimizing errors and delays.

Actively participate in daily operations, joining the team in executing tasks to motivate staff, ensure compliance with plans, and identify potential issues before they escalate.

Team Management and Compliance:

Lead and manage the shipping team, ensuring all dispatches are completed within the allocated 40-hour workweek.

Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols, especially when working in temperature-controlled environments.

Provide ongoing training and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

Handle all other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager.

About You:

You excel in prioritizing and managing multiple projects and deadlines, even in a complex, high-paced environment. You thrive under pressure and are known for your ability to keep calm and effective in challenging situations.

Flexibility is one of your strengths; you’re ready to work long hours when necessary to ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.

You are bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish, and you have strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages, allowing you to effectively lead a diverse team and coordinate with different departments.

You bring at least 1 year of relevant experience in shipping or logistics, and you’ve successfully managed staff in a warehouse or shipping environment for at least a year.

You are proficient in Microsoft programs, particularly Excel and Outlook, and you have hands-on experience with inventory management systems.

Your knowledge extends to industry regulations and best practices for shipping perishable goods, and you understand the unique challenges of working in temperature-controlled environments.

Work Environment:

The role is primarily based in a warehouse or shipping facility at HPL Apollo, with significant time spent in temperature-controlled environments to ensure the proper handling of perishable goods.

You are comfortable working in cold storage areas and managing the challenges associated with maintaining the quality and integrity of perishable products.

Position Details:

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $66,500 Annually
