Position Summary:We are looking for an AP / AR Specialist that thrives in an engaging work environment where there is constant, in-person interaction with people of all levels. The right person for this job is organized and trainable, detail-oriented, reliable, and focused. We offer a clean, hard-working, and fun office environment!This position will play a key role in the Company’s Accounting Department by performing a variety of accounting tasks to ensure the accurate and timely recording of business transactions.This is a full-time / in-office position located at our main office in Mendota Heights, MN.Key Responsibilities:Initiate and process customer billings for construction projects and material salesAssist in monitoring customer collections and follow up as neededWork with Project Estimators to resolve any customer billing issuesProcess vendor invoices for timely and accurate paymentWork with Company personnel to resolve any vendor payment issuesPrepare and post journal entries as neededAssist with the preparation of year-end closing and provide audit assistanceAssist with payroll duties as neededMaintain electronic documentation for all tasks performedAssist in the preparation of reports and analyses distributed to managementPerform other accounting duties and ad hoc tasks as assignedBack-up office administrative duties including back up phone coverageBack-up to front desk (mail, etc.)Preferred Experience/Education:Proven experience as an Accounting Assistant or in a similar roleAssociates or bachelors degree in business, accounting or related field preferredKnowledge of basic accounting principlesFamiliarity with accounting softwareProficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and WordAccuracy and attention to detailAptitude for numbers and quantitative skillsExcellent organizational and time-management skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsEducational pursuits beyond high school a plusConstruction background is a plusJob Expectations:Live up to our company Core Values:Safety:
