The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) must be passionate about ensuring quality care for seniors in our community. The ADON provides direct care and management of care staff to meet and exceed state and local licensing guidelines. This individual must demonstrate excellent communication skills as they collaborate with the Director of Nursing (DON), physicians, pharmacists, and other care providers. The ADON must be hands-on and work well with the DON to support the mission of Community Name Here in meeting the physical, social, and emotional needs of all residents.Key Responsibilities
Supervision of nursing team24/7 on-call availabilityPerform clinical rounds and determine resident needsNotify the DON of any changes in residents’ statusAssist the DON in medication administration oversightEnsure proper documentation and accurate resident care recordsEnforce company policies and procedures and state regulationsParticipate in care plan meetingsParticipate in staff trainingProvide or delegate hands-on care as neededOther tasks as requested by the Director of Nursing or Executive Director/AdministratorQualifications
Valid Registered Nurse licenseExperience in nursing management/supervision and direct careExperience in senior care is preferred
