The

Per Diem Patient Access Representative Associate

is responsible for greeting and welcoming patients in person. Provides a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data and entering information into an electronic medical record.

Primary Responsibilities

Greets and welcomes patients in personCollects demographic and insurance informationChecks in and interviews patients to complete appropriate paperworkDirects patients to their appointment or procedureMay assist in scheduling add-on appointmentsDocuments any issues and resolutions in electronic medical recordResolves claim issues or registration errors on patient accountsUses resources, tools, and procedures to complete registration for accounts and in assigned work queuesVerifies insurance eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results focusing on complex billing situationsObtains cost information and explains it to patients if necessaryCollects co-pays or deductibles and responds to questions regarding financial assistance programs available. Refers complex questions as neededScreens and approves patients for financial assistance programsAssists and counsels patients with the application process for available financial assistance programsProvides technical or functional direction for employeesAssists patients in completion of request for information forms and submits them to the appropriate departmentObtains signatures from patients as neededMay gather medical record information from all departments for collectionProvides customer service for inbound and outbound telephone callsMay mentor other staff as neededOther duties as assigned
