Materials Supervisor
Job Description
This position is responsible to combine aspects of Scheduling, Buying, Receiving and Shipping to establish objectives that are consistent with the organizational needs of a customer driven company. Work from established procedures and/or verbal instructions.
Materials Supervisor will:
Maintain the Scheduling, Ordering, Receiving and Shipping Processes to established standards and directives
Demonstrate leadership and technical expertise to achieve long range strategies of an effective Production Scheduling System
Lead the overall quality activities to achieve plant wide goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory and Continuous Improvement.
Develop a budget and manage the administration responsibilities for all aspects of the Materials function
Identify and report the need for Standard Work Changes
Utilize a cycle count process to maintain inventory accuracy until such time that overall processes are improved such that a cycle count program is no longer needed.
Adapt to Standard Work variances
Perform other duties as required or assigned
Follow all prescribed safety rules and regulations
Refer all questionable conditions to supervisor
Actively contribute to the plant strategic vision as part of the plant leadership team
Drive for world class supplier performance utilizing root cause corrective action methodology for both supplier quality issues as well as delivery issues.
Formulate and install standard procedures and plans based on comparative analyses, methods, and costs
Provide effective leadership, guidance, coaching, communication, learning and development
Facilitate a continuous improvement culture by instilling Plan, Do, Check, Act methodology
Create a work environment conducive to employee morale and motivation to accomplish performance objectives
Drive broader functional knowledge expertise and learning through the organization
Communicate goal progress and roadblocks to site leader
Establish and share best-in-class quality processes with functional peers
